Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how Freelancinu (hereinafter “we” or the “Website”) collects, uses and stores your personal data when you use our freelancer listings platform. The Website is run by an independent developer, not a company. Data controller: Freelancinu, email: labas@freelancinu.lt.

What data we collect

We collect only the data needed to provide the service:

Registration data: first name, last name, email address, phone number and password (stored only in encrypted form).
Profile data: photo, cover image, description, city, languages, skills and links to social networks and your website.
Listing data: title, description, price, contact information, photos, category and city.
Messaging data: messages you exchange with other users.
Usage data: viewed and saved listings, followed users, profile views.
Technical data: IP address, browser and device information – used to ensure security and prevent abuse.

For what purposes and on what legal basis we use data

We process your data for the following purposes and legal bases:

To create and manage your account and provide the service – on the basis of performance of a contract.
To publish and moderate listings – on the basis of performance of a contract.
To enable communication between users (messages) – on the basis of performance of a contract.
For system security and fraud and abuse prevention (e.g. login rate-limiting) – on the basis of legitimate interest.
To send important emails (account activation, password recovery, notifications about listings and messages) – on the basis of performance of a contract.
For non-essential cookies and optional notifications – on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
To comply with legal obligations – on the basis of a legal obligation.

Who we disclose data to

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only to the extent necessary to provide the service, with the following recipients:

The hosting provider on which the Website runs.
The email delivery service provider.
A content delivery and protection network (to ensure browsing security).
Social login providers (Google, Facebook, Apple) – only if you choose to log in through them.
Competent authorities, where required by law.

Public profile and listing information (e.g. name, photo, listing content) is visible to other visitors of the Website. Phone number and email are not shown publicly – contacts are disclosed only to logged-in users.

How long we store data

Account and profile data are stored for as long as you have an account. When it is deleted, the data is removed or anonymised.
Listings are stored while they are published or until you delete them; once expired they are removed from public listings.
Messages are stored while you have an account; when it is deleted, the messages are removed.
Technical and security records are kept for a short time necessary to ensure security.

Data transfers outside the EU/EEA

The Website and data are stored in the European Union. Some service providers (e.g. social login providers or protection networks) may process data outside the EU/EEA. In such cases, appropriate safeguards provided for by the GDPR apply (e.g. standard contractual clauses).

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the following rights:

to access your data;
to request rectification of inaccurate data;
to request erasure of data (the “right to be forgotten”);
to restrict or object to processing;
to receive your data in a portable format;
to withdraw consent at any time (e.g. for cookies).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority – the State Data Protection Inspectorate (vdai.lrv.lt).

Data security

We apply technical and organisational measures to protect data: passwords are stored only encrypted (hash function), the connection is encrypted with the HTTPS protocol, login rate-limiting is applied, and two-factor authentication (2FA) can be enabled for accounts. However, no method of transmitting data over the internet is completely secure.

Minors

The Website may be used only by persons aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data of younger persons.
